Pillowcase Podcast is run by Banner Plumb, an individual based in Montana ("we," "us"). This page explains what we collect, why, and how to have it deleted. Questions or requests: story@pillowcasepodcast.com.
The short version
- We collect only what a story needs.
- We never sell your information or use it for ads.
- Email us anytime and we'll delete everything.
What we collect
From you, the parent (or gift-giver):
- Your email address
- Your child's first name, age, and whether they're a boy, girl or they/them
- Their favorite animal
- Anything else you choose to share: what they're obsessed with right now, what they're nervous about or working on, family members and pets, how to say their name, things to leave out, and moments you add for a story
- For gifts, the gift-giver's first name
From Stripe, when you start your trial: your name as entered at checkout and the status of your subscription. Stripe handles your card. We never see or store your full card number.
From the website: which link brought you to us (for example, a social media post), and simple visit counts from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies.
We don't ask for your child's last name, birthday, school, photos or location. We never collect anything from children directly. A parent or guardian fills in everything.
How we use it
Only to run Pillowcase Podcast:
- To write, narrate and email your child's stories
- To keep a list of past story titles and settings, so new stories don't repeat old ones
- To bill your subscription and answer your questions
Who helps us
We use these services to make and deliver stories. Each one gets only what it needs for its part:
- Stripe: payments and the cancel page
- Google: stores the family list (Google Sheets) and story files (Google Drive)
- n8n: runs the automation that connects these steps
- Anthropic (Claude): writes each story from the details you've shared
- ElevenLabs: turns the finished story text into audio
- Brevo: sends the story emails
- Cloudflare: hosts this website, handles email to story@pillowcasepodcast.com, and counts visits
Your story files and play links
Each story's audio and text are saved in our Google Drive, so your stories stay available. The play link in your email works for anyone who has it, so it plays on any device without an account. Please don't post the link publicly if you don't want others to hear it. The MP3 attached to the email is your own copy.
Children's privacy
Pillowcase Podcast is for parents and guardians, not for children to use themselves. A parent or guardian, or someone with their permission, provides all the information. If you think a child signed up on their own, or that we have a child's information without a parent's permission, email us and we'll delete it.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your information while you're subscribed. After you cancel, we keep it so your past stories stay available. Email us anytime and within 30 days we'll delete your family's information and story files. The exception is payment records that Stripe must keep for tax and legal reasons.
Changing your details
Use the link in any story email to add details or ask us to leave something out. For anything else, including changing the email where stories go, email us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and email you before the change takes effect.
